Onsite visit to TANECO Oil Refining and Petrochemical Complex
TANECO is a modern oil refining complex. For the last 30 years it has been Russia’s only petrochemical plant built from scratch. The complex is a part of Tatneft Group. ELOU-AVT-6, to be put into operation in 2019, will increase the capacity of the complex to 14m tons per annum. At present, TANECO refines 8,7m tonnes of feedstock. Oil conversion rate is 99,2%, light oil yield – 87%.
Why visit TANECO?
Per-month investment in TANECO is about 3bn RUB.
A total of 26bn RUB were channelled for the construction of TANECO’s environmental facilities.
The development plan of TANECO covers the period before 2026: oil conversion rate will amount to 99,2%; light oil yield – 90%; Nelson complexity index – 12.
TANECO Oil Refinery was the first in Russia to stop releasing mazut as the end product and shifted to the production of highly liquid light oil (over 20 products).
Once the catalytic reformer is commissioned, TANECO will start the production of petrol: its share will total 10% of the oil refined at the plant.
Production of gasolines will increase the overall effectiveness and competitiveness of the Tatneft oil-refining complex. Thanks to high production efficiency and adherence to ecological standards, the fuel guarantees desirable, stable performance of contemporary automobile engines.
Traditional and novel waste water treatment methods ensure the reuse of up to 99,1% of water. This is equivalent to the average annual consumption of the city with the population of 84k people.
TANECO diesel fuel is characterised by ultra-low sulphur content (less than 3 ppm).
Sulphur capture rate is record-breaking amounting to 99,8%.
To recover the emergency gas TANECO applies a unique flare system, which includes 4 140-m high flare risers.
