Nail Maganov, CEO of the major domestic petroleum company Tatneft, has announced the possibility of building the TANECO-3 refinery in Nizhnekamsk. This project will stipulate for enhancing the existing refining and petrochemical facilities. The latter refer to refining-output industrial gas liquefaction.
The CEO has also added that Tatneft at present has several alternatives under consideration. If the feasibility study reveals the lack of feedstock, refining capacities will be boosted. As reported by Nail Maganov, this decision will be effective for both the enterprise and Russia at large.
The completion of project feasibility study is scheduled for H1 2018, when it will be further submitted to the company’s board of directors.
For the record, the 1st TANECO phase was commissioned 6 years ago. Next year features the construction of the second phase including the CDU/VDU 6. The projected refining capacity is estimated at some 14 mtpa.
